The collaboration between him and Boyd became a long-lasting relationship that eventually led to another film that was based on the novel by Boyd “A Good Man in Africa.”

Tarlov also directed the production of three John Waters movies with his longtime producer John Fiedler “Cecil B. Demented,” “Serial Mom” and “Copycat.” He directed 2 films, including the music video for 2004 “Temptation” and the 1999 romantic comedy “Simply Irresistible,” written by his wife.
